Digital X-Rays
At each dental exam, here at Bronx Dental, we check for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other potential problems that may require treatment. Preventive care at Bronx Dental also includes X-rays of your mouth that may be taken during your dental exam. Digital X-Rays immediately produce an image to accelerate and provide the state-of-the-art oral healthcare standard expected at Bronx Dental. The digital x-rays image can be viewed during your visit on our computer screens in each operatory.
Panoramic Imaging
A panoramic dental x-ray creates a single image of the entire mouth. This image provides a flat representation of the otherwise curved structure of the jaw, making it easier to analyze each part. This type of x-ray shows problems such as bone abnormalities and fractures, cysts, impacted teeth, infections and tumors. Our dentists here at Bronx Dental use this state of the art imagery method when planning for treatments such as braces, implants and dentures.
Digital Cone Scan
Cone Beam 3D Imaging is a diagnostic imaging technology that uses radiation in a manner similar to x-rays. Cone beam imaging evolved from the development of CAT Scan imaging in medicine. CAT Scans, or Computerized Axial Tomography, utilize a fan-shaped beam of radiation that rotates around the patient hundreds of times per second, with the patient being moved a precise distance in the scanner. Cone beam differs in that cone beam scans use a cone-shaped beam that is directed at a detector that rotates around the patient. Unlike CAT scans, cone beam 3D imaging can be applied to dental practices.
